This past week was the most surrealistic period of my life so far as Ciara and I went in for her ultrasound. The display showed a very active creature inside her uterus including a great shot of its four-chambered heart. With family all over this nation and stretching across the pond, it seemed that natural for a father-to-be to broadcast. We are new parents and new bloggers. We think this media will be just as much for us as for our loved ones.

Ciara has popped out since our trip to the Radiologist. The little greatfruit that was her belly, easily hidden with longer shirts and an occasional open pants button, has swollen to cantaloupe status. We had discussed prior to the trip not finding out the gender and we stuck to it. Many folks are supplying us with name suggestions. Most suggestions are for a girl and they have all been beautiful. Based upon the picture to the right, we think "it" will be a drama queen. Ciara says the baby already has my belly.

Summer program just ended so Ciara and I looking forward to having some "time off" before we head to Montauk. We will be getting married on Tuesday; a small ceremony on the beach with friends and family, surf and sunset. The ceremony will be followed by dinner in town and then a couple more days on the beach. Ciara is very highly regarded amongst the administration and support personnel in my school district. I am often told how cute she is (as if I didn't know...geesh, she reminds me every morning). I assure them that beneath that cute exterior is buried a sarcasm dragon that keeps me on my toes. I keep asking my soon-to-be mumsy in-law where that trait comes from....Ireland is the best answer I've received yet. I'm thrilled about the events of this summer and the adventures that lay ahead. I'm even more thrilled about my travel buddy and life companion. Viva l'ete du cochon!!!
